Library Notes 3/9
Leaping leprechauns at the Library. Aside from providing ample opportunity for tongue twisting, St. Patrick’s day allows us to have a pre-school story time featuring pots of gold, little green men and one really big potato. Join us Monday or Wednesday at 10 a.m. for stories and a Saint Patty’s day craft.
Toddler Story Time
Join us Tuesday at 10:30 for a highly informal toddler story (half) hour. We’ll tell tales, sing songs and break out the crayons. This program is geared toward kids aged approximately 20-44 months, or for anyone who would prefer a less structured story time.
Kids’ Book Discussion
The March selection for the grades 4 and up kids’ book club will be Phillip Pullman’s The Subtle Knife. This sequel to The Golden Compass, a fierce, solemn, inventive fantasy that draws on such unlikely sources as Milton and particle physics is the second book in the trilogy His Dark Materials. The Subtle Knife moves back and forth between our world and another and will appeal to adventure and fantasy fans of all ages. We’ll discuss the book Tuesday March 28th at 4:15. Order your copy today.
Read to a Dog
Should the urge to read to a dog suddenly arise; make haste to the Altamont Library Tuesday afternoons between 3:30 and 4:30. Call 861-7239 for a reservation or just drop in. This program is designed to boost the confidence of early readers but is fun for any fan of dogs and books.
