Pre-School Story time
Next week in pre-school story time, we’ll tremble at the Tyrannosaurus and cheer on the Corythosaurus. Join us as we travel back in time to when dinosaurs ruled the earth as we read The Trouble with Tyrannosaurus Rex and If the Dinosaurs came back. Monday and Wednesday mornings at 10.
Community Supported Agriculture Presentation
Sara and Raymond Luhrman, operators of an organic CSA farm will lead a discussion accompanied by a slideshow that contrasts the economic, social and environmental costs of Agribusiness with the alternatives offered by CSA. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session. Monday February 27th at 6:30 PM.
Kids’ Book Clubs
Join us Monday, the 27th at 4 for our discussion of Frindle, the tale of a fifth grade word smith, and on Tuesday the 28th at the same time to talk about The Golden Compass, the first part of Phillip Pullman’s fantasy/adventure series, His Dark Materials. Questions, call 861-7239.
New Books
In the latest account of the search for the Holy Grail, Kate Mosse creates two female protagonists, one from the present century, one from the thirteenth, and shows how their lives intersect across 800 years. Labyrinth takes the male world of the historical-religious-quest genre and adds a twist that won’t disappoint fans of the genre.
James Patterson has a new courtroom/hospital thriller out. 5th Horseman will pull you toward the apocalypse with its page turning plot, (there are 139 chapters) as the Women’s Murder Club investigate suspicious deaths at the hospital.
