Lib Notes 3.29
Pre-School Story time
As wonderful and indispensable as books are, forced to make the choice between food and books, many of us would go for the former. Fortunately, we live in a kinder, gentler world in which no such choices are necessary. To celebrate, preschool story time will celebrate with books on the theme yummy in my tummy. Join us for mouth-wateringly good stories and a delectable craft Monday or Wednesday at 10:00.
Toddler Story Time
Join us at 10:30 on Tuesday for an informal story time created with two and three year olds in mind. We’ll learn Itsy Bitsy Spider, read some spider books, work on a craft and have lots of time for socializing.
A Visit to Altamont in the Early 1900s
Tonight, travel back in time to another incarnation of Altamont. Tim Albright will present a slideshow and talk about the village during the heyday of the Delaware and Hudson Railroad. This program is co-sponsored by Altamont Community Traditions. Thursday March 30th at 7:30 in the Village Hall Community Room.
Kids’ Book Club
Our elementary school book club will discuss The Unbreakable Code, by Sara Hunter on Monday April 24th at 4 p.m. This book explores the role of the Navajo language in World War II. A young boy is nervous to leave the reservation but his grandfather’s stories about the role of the language in the victory in the war give him confidence to leave home.
