Library Notes
By Judith Wines
Columbus Day Closure
The Library will be closed Monday, October 11th for Columbus Day. Be sure to stop by on Friday or Saturday to stock up on books for the long weekend.
Story Hour
The only story hour this week will be on Wednesday at 10 AM. Come to the Library to fall into autumn with books and activities for all those between 1 and 1825 days old and their caregivers.
Magazine Exchange
The foyer rack formerly known as Magazine Sales is now known as Magazine Exchange. Bring a magazine, take a magazine and find out that your neighbors are reading every week.
Book Donations
The Library very much appreciates the willingness of the community to donate books and other materials. Due to limited storage space, the Library requests that any donations larger than 5 items be dropped off at the Library on the first Monday of the month to facilitate their transport to a storage location.
Website Addition
Mislay your copy of the Enterprise? Never fear! Now you can read the Altamont Library Notes, as well as other Altamont Library news, online. Go to our homepage at www.altamontfreelibrary.org and click on the What's doing at the Library link to read current and past columns.
Library Jokes
And now…what we’ve all been waiting for. The aswer to last week’s Joke:
Why didn't the thief break into the library?
Because he was afraid he'd get a long sentence.
This week’s joke: What did the mummy do when he went to the Library?
The answer will be published in next week’s column. The best answer will receive a coupon for a free ice cream from Stewarts.
