Library Notes

By Judith Wines

Pre-School Storytime

Don’t have a cow, man – get to the Library to listen to stories about bovine beauties instead. Join us, Old McDonaled and Belinda the cow for a session of stories and crafts that will leave you cowed. Monday and Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Riverway Storytelling Festival

Join us at the Library for the kickoff of the Riverway Storytelling festival, a regional event celebrating all forms of stories. Storytellers Fran Combs Berger and Kent Busman will be at the Altamont Library to regale us with stories for families on the theme Spring has Sprung. Join us for this exciting free event Monday May 1st at 7 p.m. Questions? Call 861-7239

Toddler Story time

Do you feel as if you might all fall down? Seek relief Tuesday mornings at 10:30 when we Ring around the Rosey, read simple stories and create a craft to bring home with us. This informal program runs about half an hour.

Chickens

The eggs are in the incubator! Come check out our collection of chickens-to-be (we hope). The eggs are due to hatch on May 8th - come in anytime between now and then to check on their progress. If you come in at the right time, you can exercise your internal mother hen, as we are always glad for help in egg turning.

Computer Classes for Adults

Our next five part series of computer classes for adults will commence Thursday April 27th and continue on Thursdays at 10:30. Each of the five classes covers a topic ranging from the internet to email to word processing. No prior experience is assumed. Registration is required as class size is limited. Call the Library at 861-7239.

Library Joke

Why does the dragon keep turning around in a circle?

Email answers to winesj@mail.uhls.lib.ny.us. Something cool to the winner…

The answer to last week’s joke:

How do you make a Library float? Get a million gallons of root beer, two scoops of ice cream, and add one library!
