Library Notes 12.16

Crafts at Village Hall
After you see the Puppet People’s Presentation at Village Hall this Saturday at 2, be sure to stop by the Library’s table. We’ll be making paper-people chains (and would be glad to hear if there is a more authoritative name for envisioned craft) and serving punch.

Pre-School Story time
Join us Monday and/or Wednesday at 10:00 for a story time about gifts – we’ll read books, learn a rhyme and make wrapping paper to wrap our own gifts. No registration is necessary, just stop on in.

Infant Lapsit
Do you know any new parents looking to get out of the house to a baby-friendly place?
Send them to the Library Tuesdays at 10:30 for a highly informal session of birth-24 month appropriate stories, music and activities.

Last Minute Gifts
Looking for a unique present with local flavor? The Library just might be able to come to your rescue. We have prints of a map of the village dating from 1889 ($20), and prints, sponsored by Altamont Community Traditions, by Local artists Ed Cowley (St. John’s Candle Light Ceremony, $7) and Mary Ann Brock (Village Center -$10, $20 signed.)

Dog-Less Day
Due to a prior engagement, Jane of Read-to-a-Dog fame will be absent from the Library on December 20th, but she’ll be back the following Tuesday at 3:30.

Library Joke
What did the book called "Chills" say to the other book? Email: winesj@uhls.lib.ny.us
Ice cream cone to the best answer!
Last week’s Joke: When a knight read a book, who was always at his side?
His page!
