Library Notes 3/3

Pre-School Story Time

Preschool story time is on the road again with stories about bikes, buses and cars. Don’t be left in the dust as the wheels on the bus go round and round Monday and Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Toddler Story Time

Join us Tuesday at 10:30 for a highly informal toddler story (half) hour. We’ll tell tales, sing songs and break out the crayons. This program is geared toward kids aged approximately 20-44 months, or for anyone who would prefer a less structured story time.

Kids’ Book Discussion

The March selection for the kids’ book club will be Dick King-Smith’s Three Terrible Trins. In this short novel by the author of Babe: The Gallant Pig, three mice brothers, ignoring the class system separating the four clans of rodents, befriend a lower class mouse a form a team to fight the cats. We’ll meet Monday March 27th at 4 pm to discuss this book, which is recommended for grades 2-4. Call the Library today to request your copy.

Read to a Dog

Should the urge to read to a dog suddenly arise, make haste to the Altamont Library Tuesday afternoons between 3:30 and 4:30. Call 861-7239 for a reservation or just drop in. This program is designed to boost the confidence of early readers but is fun for any fan of dogs and books.

Library Joke

This week’s Library Joke: What kind of music does the computer dance to? Something cool to the best answer! Email: winesj@uhls.lib.ny.us. The answer to last week’s joke…What part of a computer does an astronaut like best? The Space Bar!
