Library Notes 1/26

Library Notes

By Judith Wines

Bookmarks

Ever been at a loss as to what to read next? Come to the Library and check out Bookmarks, the latest addition to our magazine collection.

Bookmarks is a reader’s advisory magazine that includes everything from reviews of new books to recommendations across a genre (this month’s edition covers the best of historical fiction), author profiles and suggestions for book groups.

Pre-School Story Time

Are you hip enough for story time? We’ll be featuring hippopotami at the Library at pre-school story time. Lumber on down stairs for tales about hippos. The hippopotamus kills more people in Africa than any other animal, but we’ll see the species’ softer side as we meet James Marshall’s characters George and Martha and create hippos of our own.

Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:00.

Read to a Dog!

Do you know any reluctant readers? Reading to a dog is a great way to get a kid who is less than thrilled about reading more excited about books. (It’s also a lot of fun for confident readers too...) Jane, a hypoallergenic therapy dog visits the Library every Tuesday between 3:30 and 4. For more information, call 861-7239.
