Library Notes 11/30

Victorian Holidays

Join us at the Train Station on Victorian Holidays as storyteller Nancy Payne weaves holiday tales for listeners of all ages. The train station will be decked with era-appropriate decorations, complete with a Lionel train set going around the Christmas tree. Sunday, December 3rd at 3:00.

Storytimes

While the Antarctic winds may never howl through Altamont, that doesn’t mean we can’t share in the current penguin craze. Come to Storytime on Wednesday or Thursday and celebrate this popular polar bird. We’ll read stories likeThe Emporer Penguin’s New Clothers and Penguin Pete, Ahoy!, do a penguin shuffle and create a craft to match our dinner-jacketed friend’s elegance. Wednesday, 2-4 year olds 10:15-10:45. Thursday, 3-5 year olds 10:00-10:45. Drop-ins welcome.

Read to a Dog.

Come on in and read to Jane, the Portuguese Water Dog who loves to listen to stories. Jane is back at the Library Wednesday afternoons from 3-4. Reading to Jane is a great way for kids to gain confidence in their reading abilities while having fun. Call 861-7239 to sign up for a 15-minute time slot or just drop in.
