Library notes 11/22

Holiday Hours

The Library will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22nd and be closed all day on Thanksgiving, the 23rd. We will be open 10:00-5:00 on Friday, and 9:00-12:00 on Saturday, as per normal.

Library Lights

The lighting of the Library Lights will take place November 26 at 4:00 This annual ceremony honors loved ones with the lighting of lights and a reading of names at the Village Gazebo.

Victorian Holidays

Join us at the Train Station on Victorian Holidays as storyteller Nancy Payne weaves holiday tales for listeners of all ages. The train station will be decked with era-appropriate decorations, complete with a Lionel train set going around the Christmas tree. Sunday, December 3rd at 3:00.

Storytimes

G’iddy up young cowboys and girls. Gallup down to the Library for a rip-roaring roundup of the wild West. From the Armadillo Rodeo to Pecos Bill, we’ll explore the land of the cowherd with stories and activities. Wednesday from 10:15-10:45 for two and three year olds or Monday and/or Thursday from 10:00-10:45 for four and five year olds. Ten-gallon hats optional.

Read to a Dog.

Come on in and read to Jane, the Portuguese Water Dog who loves to listen to stories. Jane is back at the Library Wednesday afternoons from 3-4. Reading to Jane is a great way for kids to gain confidence in their reading abilities while having fun. Call 861-7239 to sign up for a 15-minute time slot or just drop in.

Book Club meetings

Both Kids Book Clubs will meet next week. We will discuss Mr. Popper’s Penguins on Monday, 11/27 at 4:00 and the Conch Bearer Wednesday the 29th at 4:15. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome.
