Library Notes 5.25

Holiday Hours

The Library will be closed Monday, May 29th in observance of Memorial Day. Stock up on books in advance.

Pre-School Story time

Fiesta! Join us Wednesday at 10 for a south-of-the-border celebration at the Altamont Library. We’ll read stories that explain why the coyote howls at the moon and a folktale about a cuckoo. A party without dancing isn’t a party at all so we’ll make some maracas, throw in a cd and dance to La Raspa.

Toddler Story Time

Whether your two-three year old is jumpy like a frog or a toddles like a turtle, bring him (or her) to our toddler story time on the aforementioned amphibians and reptiles. We meet for about half an hour Tuesdays at 10:15 for simple stories, songs and a crafts.

Whipping Boy Discussion

Our second and third grade book club will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday May 30th for a discussion of The Whipping Boy, by Sid Fleishman. All are welcome.

Successful book and bake sale

Thank you to all who contributed to and patronized our sale at the Altamont Yard Sale. We appreciate your support.

Library Joke

What does the chicken say at the Library circulation desk?

Email answers to winesj@mail.uhls.lib.ny.us. Something cool to the winner…

The answer to last week’s joke:

Why did Dr. Jekyll cross the road in front of the library? To get to the other Hyde!
