Nature Program
Native Plants – Are they really what’s in your back yard? Join Laurel Tormey Cole at the Altamont Library. The presentation will include topics such as terms to use, how to understand botanical names, and where to obtain native plants. This will be followed by a quick slide presentation of some native perennials and shrubs, and a q & a session. Wednesday, May 10th at 7 p.m.
Pre-School Story time
Does your heart go pitter-patter at the prospect of the manufacture of cutesy crafts for Mothers Day? Come to story time at the Altamont Library on Monday or Wednesday at 10 a.m. for maternal stories and craft assembly.
Kids’ Book Club
Join us May 23rd at 4:15 p.m. as we discuss The Giver, by Lois Lowry. In this futuristic novel, Jonas becomes the receiver of memories, and as such, discovers the terrible truth about the society in which he lives. Request your copy at the Library.
Toddler Story Time
Hi-ho, the derry-o, the toddlers are at the library. Join us Tuesday at 10:15 as we sing songs, learn rhymes and finger plays, read stories and work on a craft. This informal program runs for about half an hour.

Come check out the May display case - Alex Brecht’s Dinosaurs are marauding across both levels of the case.
